Care Information

Mira Athletica’s fabrics are crafted for optimal performance and designed to meet the demands of different activity levels. Proper care ensures that your gear maintains its unique properties—whether it’s designed for high-impact support, sweat-wicking, or a soft, all-day feel. Follow these guidelines to keep your Mira Athletica pieces looking and performing their best.

General Care Instructions
  1. Machine Wash Cold on a Gentle Cycle
    • Washing in cold water helps preserve fabric strength and color, especially for performance fabrics designed for moisture-wicking and stretch. Use a gentle cycle to reduce friction that can wear down the material over time.
  2. Avoid Fabric Softeners
    • Fabric softeners can interfere with the technical properties of Mira fabrics, such as breathability and stretch. They create a coating that diminishes moisture-wicking capabilities, which can impact performance during workouts.
  3. Wash and Dry with Like Colors
    • Keep your colors vibrant by washing similar shades together. Avoid washing light-colored items with dark or vibrant ones, as performance fabrics can be prone to color bleeding.
  4. Remove Promptly from Washer and Dryer
    • Prompt removal from the washer prevents excess wrinkling and maintains the fabric’s structure. If drying in the dryer, removing promptly prevents over-drying, which can weaken fibers over time.
  5. Only Use Non-Chlorine Bleach When Needed
    • For tough stains, stick to non-chlorine bleach options to avoid breaking down fibers. Chlorine bleach can be too harsh on high-performance materials, leading to fabric weakening.
  6. Tumble Dry on Low or Air Dry
    • A low tumble dry helps retain fabric elasticity and durability. For an even gentler approach, air drying is the best option, especially for items with elastane or spandex, as heat can cause shrinkage over time.
  7. Cool Iron When Necessary
    • If ironing is needed, use a cool setting to avoid heat damage. Never iron directly on prints, logos, or trims, as these areas are especially heat-sensitive. To protect any embellishments, place a cloth between the fabric and the iron.
  8. Do Not Dry Clean
    • Dry cleaning chemicals can be too harsh for performance fabrics. To maintain their technical properties and long-term durability, stick to machine or hand washing as recommended.

Additional Tips for Longevity
  • Rotate Your Pieces: For high-intensity activities, rotate your activewear to reduce wear on each piece. This extends the life of materials designed to withstand sweat, stretch, and movement.
  • Spot Clean When Needed: For small stains, spot cleaning can prevent unnecessary washing and prolong the fabric’s life.
  • Store Carefully: Fold items with delicate trims or lightweight fabrics to avoid snags, and avoid hanging items with heavy logos or prints that may stretch out over time.

Following these steps will keep your Mira Athletica gear looking new, performing well, and feeling great each time you wear it. If you need more specific care for individual products, feel free to contact us at info@miraathletica.com.
